      Charles Daniel has a passion for plants and landscaping, and he is an expert in both fields. He is the President of Coastal Garden Keepers in Savannah, and he is a Georgia Certified Landscape Professional as well as a Georgia Certified Plant Professional. Charles was a Department Head at Pikes Nursery which is one of the largest independent nurseries in the United States. Pikes Nursery felt that customer education was very important, and they had classes every other weekend. Charles taught over 20 of those classes on various Horticultural topics at Pikes every year.

      Doug has perfected his air-layering technique by using air-layering cups and you will enjoy this exciting demonstration!


      Dr. Doug Webb has been heading up the Bonaventure Project for a number of years. Doug and his team spend countless hours propagating camellias through a technique called air-layering, which allows for large limbs 18-24 inches long to be rooted easily in only several months. To say that Doug is an expert would be an understatement!

      The $35 fee is for the materials necessary for your arrangements.  The Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens Fee of $5.00 IS NOT INCLUDED. 

      After years in a variety of creative fields, SCAD alum, Audrey Wagner, has found her passion in floral design.  Her organic compositions are often full of homegrown blooms.  Though specializing in event work with August Floral and Event Design, she loves teaching fellow flower enthusiasts.

      Waxing Camellias is an old art form of preserving Camellias blossoms by dipping them in wax!  Debbie Odom of Gene's Nursery has been waxing camellias for over 20 years and will demonstrate this wonderful technique and give you pointers on how you can do it yourself with Camellias from your garden!

      Gene Phillips is one of the owners of Gene’s Nursery in Savannah, Ga.  He is a 2nd generation grower and attributes his love of Camellias to his father, who inspired him to breath in the beauty that they bring to him but more importantly to others.  In his ‘free’ time, you’ll find him wandering through old gardens, trying to identify flowers or taking countless number of photos to share with others!  He also enjoys meeting people and comparing ‘garden’ stories.
